Review of Trump’s Golden T1 Mobile Phone

Almost a year after its announcement, the Trump Mobile T1 has finally launched, differing significantly from the model initially presented. This development matters as it marks a notable entry into the competitive smartphone market.

The T1 became available this week, following a preorder from CNET which included a $100 deposit made in June 2025. Trump Mobile accelerated the shipping process for the review, unlike many companies that typically reserve review units for journalists. Uncertainty remains regarding whether non-media preorders have been fulfilled.

Trump Mobile initiated its operations in June 2025, offering a monthly mobile plan priced at £47.45. The original plan was to manufacture the T1 in the United States and release it in August 2025. However, the company retracted the “made in the US” assertion when it became apparent that large-scale domestic manufacturing was not feasible, causing a delay in the phone’s launch.

Recently, a revamped Trump Mobile website revealed a third redesign of the T1. This followed a presentation by company executives earlier this year, where they showcased a near-production version of the device to The Verge.

The release of the T1 was postponed due to production challenges, a fact confirmed by the company last week, which announced the commencement of customer shipments. Pat O’Brien, CEO of Trump Mobile, emphasised the complexities involved in the technology sector. He noted that quality assurance processes delayed the completion of the T1, but he maintains that these delays resulted in a superior product.

This long weekend, I will conduct real-world testing of the T1, using it as my primary phone during Memorial Day. I will document my experiences and share updates based on my usage.
