Nuclear power is growing again in many countries as people need more electricity for technology, factories, and modern life. A new report from BloombergNEF says global nuclear energy will increase by 44% in the next ten years. This means it will go from 372 gigawatts now to 535 gigawatts in 2036.

The main reason for this change is the rising use of artificial intelligence, called AI. AI systems use large computer centres that need a lot of electricity all day and night. Nuclear power can give a strong and steady supply of electricity, which is important for running these centres.

Because of this, China is building more nuclear power stations and is expected to become the top nuclear electricity producer by around 2030. Other countries are also interested in new, smaller types of nuclear plants.
