China exports jump 14% in April despite trade war and geopolitical tension
Follow spoken words in real time.
China’s export growth increased strongly in April, rising by 14.1% compared to a year earlier. This number was much higher than many experts expected. Many had predicted weaker growth because of problems in the world economy and trade disputes between countries.
The main reason for the increase was high demand for China’s high-tech goods and green energy products. Trade with the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and other emerging markets also played an important role.
Despite international tensions, China’s trade surplus continued to grow in April. Strong exports helped support the country’s economy, which has faced some local challenges. Experts are watching to see if this level of export growth will continue in the future.
