Follow spoken words in real time.
SpaceX has announced that it will offer its shares to the public for the first time on the Nasdaq exchange. The company, led by Elon Musk, is planning to raise up to $75 billion with a valuation of at least $1.8 trillion. If successful, this public offering will be the largest in history, passing the previous record set by Saudi Aramco in 2019.
SpaceX released new financial information showing $18.7 billion in revenue for 2025, but a net loss of $4.94 billion last year. The company lost money because of big infrastructure costs and buying an artificial intelligence firm called xAI in 2026.
The money from selling shares will help SpaceX develop its Starship spacecraft and support plans for future missions to Mars. Public trading of SpaceX shares is expected to begin in mid-June, after investor meetings.
