Meta accepted it made serious mistakes while changing the company to focus on artificial intelligence. CEO Mark Zuckerberg sent a memo to staff, saying the company faced problems after moving many employees and cutting about 10% of jobs. Many workers now have new AI-based roles, but this change caused issues with teamwork and working conditions.
The company tried to quickly shift workers and create teams for AI projects. But many staff did not have enough support or training, and some projects were delayed. This rapid change also made workers feel less secure about their jobs.
Even with these problems, Meta is still spending a lot of money on AI. The company wants to build better AI tools and keep up with other big technology companies. Some experts think other firms can learn from Meta’s mistakes about why good planning and team organisation are important during big company changes.
