A valuable diamond necklace was stolen from the Museum of Applied Arts (MAK) in Vienna, Austria, during the day on Thursday. Two men took the platinum necklace, which has 673 diamonds and weighs about 200 carats. The necklace once belonged to Queen Nazli of Egypt and was sold for $4.3 million in 2015. Police say the men bought tickets, entered the museum, broke a glass case with a hammer, and stole the necklace. Security cameras showed the suspects without masks, and many visitors saw the robbery, but no one was hurt.

Police believe the main reason for the theft was that the necklace is extremely valuable and easy to sell. It is important because it is both expensive and has a strong royal history. The necklace was on display as part of a jewellery exhibition about the French luxury company Van Cleef & Arpels. It was on loan to the museum for this special show.

After the robbery, the museum closed the exhibition and cancelled some events. Police started a large search in Vienna and released photos of the suspects. They are asking the public to help find the men and recover the famous necklace.
