Follow spoken words in real time.
The American animated show South Park recently started its 27th season with a new episode called "Sermon on the 'Mount." This programme is famous for making jokes about current events and important people in the United States. In this latest episode, South Park focused on former U.S. President Donald Trump, as well as the show's own parent company, Paramount.
South Park was created by Trey Parker and Matt Stone. For almost thirty years, it has used comedy to talk about world culture and politics. The creators said they chose these topics because politics now shapes much of today’s popular culture.
After the new episode was shown, a White House spokesperson publicly criticised the show. The government called South Park old-fashioned and said it only wanted to get more attention. Despite the negative comments, the show continues to create new episodes that discuss important political topics in America.
