Coffee or Tea: Which Is Healthier?
Follow spoken words in real time.
Many people drink coffee or tea each morning. Scientists wanted to know which drink is healthier. A big study from Tufts University looked at more than 46,000 adults. It found that drinking one to three cups of coffee with caffeine each day was linked to a lower risk of dying early.
The main reason for this health benefit is that coffee contains special plant chemicals called antioxidants. Antioxidants help protect the body’s cells. However, adding a lot of sugar or cream reduces the health benefits.
Because of this study, many experts say both coffee and tea can be good for your health. The best choice is to drink coffee or tea without too much sugar or cream. It also helps to enjoy them in moderation, and not drink so much that your sleep is affected.
