The Gaza Health Ministry said that over 1,005 Palestinians have died in Gaza since a ceasefire agreement was made in October 2023. On Thursday, the Ministry announced the total number of deaths in Gaza from the ongoing conflict in 2023 is now more than 73,000. Many of these deaths have happened because military attacks, including drone strikes and artillery shelling, have continued even after the ceasefire started.

The main reason for these new deaths is that targeted military actions and air attacks are still happening, although large ground fighting has slowed. These strikes often hit homes and neighbourhoods, so more injured people are coming to local hospitals.

Because of this situation, hospitals and medical workers in Gaza are struggling. They do not have enough resources and safe conditions to treat the high number of wounded people.
