Follow spoken words in real time.
Shares in Unitree Robotics, a company from China that makes human-like robots, rose by almost 600% when they started selling on the STAR Market in Shanghai on Wednesday. The company sold shares to the public for the first time, raising about 6.1 billion yuan, or $905 million. Investors were very interested in Unitree because it develops advanced robots that can work around people.
This happened mainly because there is growing demand for artificial intelligence and robots that can help in factories and homes. Many people want to invest in these new technologies because they believe robots will be important in the future.
As a result, Unitree now has much more money to build more robots and improve its production. The successful sale also showed that there is strong enthusiasm for robotics companies in China’s technology market.
