British actor Michael Caine is now telling stories in a new way. Although he has retired from acting, his voice is being used by artificial intelligence (AI) to narrate a new audiobook of The Odyssey, a famous ancient Greek story. The audiobook was made by ElevenLabs, an AI audio company, which used a special computer version of Caine’s voice with his permission.

The company chose to use AI to copy Michael Caine’s voice because many people like it and recognise it easily. By using technology, the audiobook tries to make the old story interesting for modern listeners.

As a result, people can hear Caine’s famous voice telling the story, even though he did not record it himself. This audiobook is bringing The Odyssey to new listeners just before a new film version appears in cinemas.
