Universal Pictures has released a Roblox game to promote Christopher Nolan’s new film, The Odyssey. The free game, called The Odyssey: Defy the Gods, is only for verified users aged 18 and over. It appeared before the movie’s planned cinema release on 17 July 2026. Players work together online to help the hero, Odysseus, on his journey home after the Trojan War by facing dangerous seas and other legendary challenges.

Universal chose Roblox because it has millions of users and now has special areas for adults. This is important because Roblox is usually known as a children’s gaming platform, but it recently started welcoming older players with new safety systems.

As a result, adults and older teenagers can explore the film’s story world inside Roblox before the movie arrives. This gives Universal a new way to get people interested in the film early.
