Tesla Expands Testing of Cybercab Robotaxi Service
Follow spoken words in real time.
Tesla, an electric car company from the United States, has started public tests of its new driverless taxi called Cybercab in Austin, Texas. The Cybercab is a small electric vehicle made for two passengers. It does not have a steering wheel, accelerator, or brake pedal, so it drives itself without a human driver.
Tesla made this new Cybercab to improve its self-driving taxi service. The Cybercab uses special cameras and computer software to see the road and make decisions, instead of using other sensors like some companies do. Tesla is now testing several of these vehicles on public roads after registering them with the local government.
Because of these public tests, the Texas government and other countries will watch Tesla’s Cybercab closely. They want to make sure it is safe for people and see if fully driverless taxis can be used widely in the future.
