Follow spoken words in real time.
On 21 October, two people were killed and eight were injured in an attack on King Fahd International Airport in Dammam, Saudi Arabia. The General Authority of Civil Aviation, which manages airports in Saudi Arabia, first said one person had died but later reported a second death. The victims were a Saudi citizen and a resident from India. Some of the injured people were from different countries. The airport reopened the next morning after officials checked the damage and made sure it was safe.
Authorities said the attack happened because there have been increasing security problems in Saudi Arabia. Some groups attacked important places like airports and oilfields. The government is working with security teams to increase safety and protect people at airports and other public places.
Because of this attack, airport security became much stricter, and the airport continued to check for any problems. Flights started again to help travellers and workers. However, people are now more worried about their safety when travelling in Saudi Arabia.
