Spider-Man Overtakes Titanic at Global Box Office
Follow spoken words in real time.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day is now one of the biggest films ever, earning over $2 billion at the worldwide box office. The film, made by Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios and starring Tom Holland as Peter Parker, reached this amount after just three weekends in cinemas. After the fourth weekend, the global total was about $2.22 billion, very close to the film Titanic, which made about $2.26 billion.
The main reason for this success is the high excitement for the Spider-Man character. Many people still want to see superhero films, and Brand New Day shows that these movies can attract large audiences.
Because of this strong performance, cinemas have enjoyed a very successful summer. In the UK, cinema chain Odeon reported its best summer attendance since 2019, with Brand New Day helping to bring many people back to theatres.
