A group of American politicians is expected to visit China next week. The group will have five members and will be led by senior Republican senator Steve Daines. They plan to visit Shanghai and Beijing starting on 1 May.

The visit happens before a meeting between US President Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping in mid-May. The meeting was delayed because of the Iran war. It will focus on trade, technology, security, and global effects from the Middle East crisis.

Experts say this visit could help both countries discuss their problems. The US and China still disagree on many issues such as tariffs and security. However, the trip shows both sides may want to find solutions without more conflict.
