Nintendo has officially announced that Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp will cease online service on November 28, 2024 at 4 pm BST / 8 am PT / 11 am ET.
The announcement was made on Nintendo’s official website and shared via social media, expressing gratitude to all supporters since the service’s inception.
Although the free-to-play version will discontinue, players can enjoy new items and events until the specified date. Thankfully, Nintendo revealed a new paid alternative permitting users to transfer their existing save data without online features.
In a detailed FAQ, Nintendo confirmed that the paid version maintains the same gameplay as the free version but requires a single purchase for full access. There will be no microtransactions, but some features like “Market Boxes” and others won’t be available.
Players must link their Nintendo Account to save data to transition to the new version, applicable to both Android and iOS users.
Ending online services concludes the era of one of Nintendo’s longest-standing mobile apps, which debuted in 2017. Providing a paid option ensures fans can retain progress and continue playing in the future. Well done, Nintendo.
