Apple has just released its new AI tools for iPhones, but only for some models. The tools include notification summaries, message-writing assistance, and a new look for Siri. These features are available on the latest iPhones like the iPhone 16 and Pro models. Mac computers and iPads with the newest chips can also use these tools. Some features arrived later than on other devices.
Apple’s CEO, Tim Cook, said the release of these AI tools marks a new era for their products. The iOS 18.1 update on Monday introduced the first batch of AI tools shown at a developer conference earlier. More features, like generating images from text, are coming later this year.
Google and Samsung already have AI features on their devices, like real-time translation and note organization. Samsung plans to reach over 100 million users with its Galaxy AI by 2024. Apple’s new Clean Up tool lets you remove unwanted things from photos, similar to Google’s Magic Eraser.
Mr. Cook mentioned that Apple may not always be the first with new features, but they strive to make them great.
