New UC Merced Bobcat Anmol Kaur, a native of the San Joaquin Valley, is set to embark on a journey into the worlds of science and medicine. Hailing from Bakersfield, Kaur’s impressive high school achievements have paved the way for her admission into UC Merced’s SJV PRIME+ medical education cohort. With both of her parents working in the medical field, Kaur is following in their footsteps.
Having excelled academically in high school, Kaur maintained a 4.5 GPA and actively participated in the Project Lead the Way biomedical science program. She co-founded W.I.S.E., a nonprofit aimed at inspiring young girls to pursue STEM careers. Kaur looks forward to continuing her academic journey at UC Merced, where she plans to major in biological sciences and prepare for medical school.
Kaur’s enthusiasm for UC Merced is palpable as she looks forward to connecting with her community and creating lasting memories. With a love for fruits and a preference for being a night owl, Kaur dreams of exploring Italy’s scenic towns for a three-day weekend. We wish her all the best in her future endeavors.
