Ilya Sutskever, co-founder and chief scientist of OpenAI, recently made the decision to leave the artificial intelligence start-up. Despite a shocking coup against the CEO Sam Altman that ultimately failed, Sutskever expressed confidence in OpenAI’s ability to develop safe and beneficial AGI (artificial general intelligence).
OpenAI, which is valued at over $80bn and has a major partnership with Microsoft, continues to push the boundaries of AI technology. Sutskever, known for his expertise in deep learning and generative AI, played a key role in the company’s early success.
Following his departure, Jan Leike, another senior researcher at OpenAI, also resigned. Despite past internal conflicts, Altman praised Sutskever as a “remarkable genius” and announced Jakub Pachocki as the new chief scientist.
Stay tuned for updates on Sutskever’s upcoming projects!
