Anthropic’s Revenue Surges, but IPO Risks Grow
Follow spoken words in real time.
Anthropic is a company in the United States that develops artificial intelligence, or AI, technology. In the third quarter of 2026, it earned $16.96 billion, which was 47% higher than the last quarter. This fast growth was reported on 2 November in a new government filing, but it was slower than the company’s growth earlier in the year.
Anthropic’s main product is the Claude AI system, which uses large computer models to answer questions or help people write. The company is preparing to sell shares to investors on the stock market for the first time, which is called an initial public offering, or IPO. The large costs of building and running AI systems caused Anthropic to lose $23.3 billion in the same quarter.
Because of these costs, Anthropic has promised to spend about $895.4 billion on computers, data centres, and special computer chips over the next several years. The company’s high revenue growth may motivate investors, but its large financial losses also make some people cautious about the company’s future.
