Apple Sues OpenAI Over Alleged Trade Secret Theft
Follow spoken words in real time.
Apple, a major technology company from the United States, has filed a lawsuit against OpenAI. Apple says that OpenAI, a company that creates artificial intelligence (AI) technology, stole secret information about Apple’s new hardware products. The lawsuit was started in a federal court in California.
Apple claims that OpenAI hired two former Apple engineers, Tang Yew Tan and Chang Liu, who shared confidential Apple documents and information. Apple says these employees took engineering files and spoke about private projects while joining OpenAI. Apple believes OpenAI wanted this information to help them make their own AI-powered devices more quickly instead of developing their own ideas from the beginning.
Because of these actions, Apple is asking the court to stop OpenAI from using any of the secret information and to return these documents. Apple also wants financial compensation if they win the case. OpenAI has denied all the accusations.
