The United States military has said for the first time that it has put weapons in Earth’s orbit. The news came from Secretary of the Air Force Troy Meink at a large conference about air, space, and computer security. Meink explained that these space weapons are there to protect the U.S. military from possible attacks by other countries.

The United States made this decision because Russia and China have been developing their own military technology in space. The U.S. government wanted to show that it can defend itself if other countries take action in space.

After this news, the United States has let the world know that it is ready to protect its important satellites and space systems. These systems help with things like communication and navigation. The next step may be changes in how countries work together in space.
