Chinese President Xi Jinping is visiting the United States for important talks with US President Donald Trump. The meeting is happening in Washington from 23 to 25 September. It is Xi’s first visit to Washington in more than ten years. Trump welcomed Xi for official ceremonies and a state dinner before a big meeting at the White House. The two leaders are expected to talk mainly about trade between their countries.

The United States and China have the world’s biggest economies. They have had disagreements about taxes on goods, technology, and trade rules. Xi and Trump are trying to stop more problems by keeping a temporary trade agreement. They also both want their countries to lead in new technology like artificial intelligence, which is computers that can learn and solve problems.

Because of this visit, the United States and China hope to avoid another serious trade conflict. Trade conflicts can make prices go up all over the world. Both leaders want to keep talking so their countries do not become more hostile towards each other.
