There was a missing piece in the history of the 911 Speedster model. The fourth generation of the 911, known as the Type 993, did not have a Speedster variant. However, Luca Trazzi, a devoted Speedster collector and designer, took matters into his own hands to create the fourth-gen Speedster. It was a dream come true for him, as he had always wanted to build his own version of the iconic car.
Trazzi’s journey started with a 1994 911 Carrera Cabriolet Type 993, which served as the base for his one-off creation. With his passion for Speedsters dating back to his childhood, Trazzi knew exactly what he wanted for his custom Speedster. He worked closely with the Porsche Sonderwunsch studio to bring his vision to life, resulting in a unique and striking design.
The car, now on display at The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering, features a custom yellow paint job named Otto Yellow, after Trazzi’s beloved dog. The interior is adorned with black leather and carbon fiber elements, creating a sporty and luxurious feel. Under the hood, the one-off Speedster boasts a powerful 3.8-liter engine from the 911 Carrera RS Type 993, making it a true performance machine.
While the one-off Speedster is not available for purchase, Porsche may consider building similar bespoke models for interested customers. Luca Trazzi’s passion and dedication have truly brought his dream car to life, showcasing his love for Speedsters and the Porsche brand.
