Every day seems to bring a new air of mystery around Helldivers 2, thanks in no small part to the game being run by the Game Master (GM), who continuously dishes out live story content. The game’s playerbase keeps finding themselves entangled in these narratives, coupled with various additions to the game. This isn’t your typical software updating process––it’s something far more engaging.
After the successful launch of Termicide in the Umlaut sector, two intriguing mysteries have surfaced. First, blue beams have been spotted sporadically shooting down from the sky. These beams bear a striking resemblance to stratagem calldowns, but, for now, they remain an enigma. Gamers are speculating if this could be a ploy by the Automatons or even a hint at a new enemy faction. Arrowhead CEO, Johan Pilestedt, has controversially stated these beams are not real and cannot cause harm.
Secondly, for a brief interlude, one player was spotted on Cyberstan, a planet already liberated and under the stronghold of Super Earth. The sighting raised eyebrows since no one is supposed to be on the already controlled planet. Speculation is rife that GM Joel may be concocting something.
Finally, please note that Cyberstan has quite a riveting history. As the homeworld of the Cyborg Nation, it’s a barren wasteland located on the fringe of the galaxy. Whenever it’s conquered by Super Earth, the Cyborgs are forcibly “democratized” and eventually another bombing restarts this whole cycle.
As such, these blue beams and unexpected activity on Cyberstan could be hinting at the next significant storyline, possibly even a Cyborg uprising. Until more is revealed, Helldivers 2 players are advised to keep their eyes peeled for blue beams in the sky and unexpected activity on Cyberstan.
