iPhone AI news alerts suspended due to errors

Share

Apple has stopped a new artificial intelligence (AI) feature that made mistakes in summarizing news headlines. People complained about the errors. The tech giant was under pressure to fix the problem.

The BBC and other news organizations found errors in the summaries. They told Apple to fix the feature because it was causing misinformation. Apple promised to improve the feature in a software update.

But people were still unhappy with Apple’s response. So, Apple decided to turn off the feature for news and entertainment apps. They will work on it more.

The BBC is glad Apple listened to their concerns. They want to help Apple make the news accurate again. Apple thought the feature would help people but now they are pausing it.

Apple is under pressure because their AI technology is important for their products. Their shares fell because they are having trouble selling in China.
