A London company called Particle6 Productions says its AI-created character, Tilly Norwood, will be the main character in a new film called Misaligned. Tilly is a digital character with human knowledge but no real childhood or memories. This news has started a new debate in Hollywood about artificial intelligence and acting.

The main reason for this debate is that actors are worried AI may take their jobs. The performers’ union, SAG-AFTRA, argues this AI character should not be called an actor. They are concerned that studios could use AI characters instead of hiring real people.

Because of this, many actors and filmmakers have criticised the film. Particle6 says the project will use both AI and over 30 human workers. The film is still in development, so it is not known how people will react when it is finished.
