Grand Egyptian Museum Brings Ancient History to Life with Light
Follow spoken words in real time.
The Grand Egyptian Museum in Egypt has started a new light show called Eternal Sun. This show uses modern technology to show 5,000 years of Egyptian history. The performance lasts 35 minutes and opened on 1 November to celebrate one year since the museum opened.
The Eternal Sun show uses projection mapping. This is a way to place moving pictures onto the walls, statues, and other parts of the museum, making them part of the story. The show tells the history of Egypt using music and stories in both Arabic and English.
The main aim of Eternal Sun is to help more people understand Egyptian history. People can first watch the light show and then see real ancient objects in the museum. The show will continue until 30 April 2027 to give many visitors a chance to enjoy this experience.
