More than 670 people have died after a large glacier collapsed at the Nepal-China border. The disaster happened on Wednesday and rescue teams have been searching for survivors for four days. Around 3,000 people are still missing, including many tourists and workers from more than 30 countries. The flood destroyed several villages and hit an important border crossing called Gyirong Port.

The main cause was a huge glacier breaking apart, which sent water, mud, and rocks down the mountains. This made the flood very strong and fast, damaging many homes and villages in its path.

As a result, local authorities are having trouble managing the large number of victims. Mass graves are being prepared for people who cannot be identified. Rescue teams are continuing their search, but officials say the best time to find survivors has almost ended.
