The University of South Carolina Sumter recently unveiled their new science building after nearly a decade of planning and construction. According to campus dean Michael Sonntag, the $10.875 million project was funded by donors and the state legislature. The upgraded facility features state-of-the-art technology for online instruction, modern study spaces, and dedicated research labs for faculty. Sonntag expressed pride in the completion of the project, which began in 2014 and phased out over the years. The new building not only enhances the learning environment for students and professors but also puts the university on a competitive edge in the fields of science, mathematics, and technology. With the addition of a nursing program, USC Sumter is now equipped with facilities that keep up with the rapidly advancing fields of study. The campus recently celebrated the opening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
