At the Mobile World Congress 2024 in Barcelona, Spain, a broad array of innovative technology was showcased. This is the world’s leading mobile trade show, where manufacturers reveal their latest inventions.
Artificial intelligence was at the heart of the displays, with varying types of screens and sneak peeks at upcoming devices from leading tech companies. Motorola, now owned by China’s Lenovo, exhibited a smartphone with a revolutionary feature – the ability to bend along a hinge, similar to a spine, which can even wrap around your wrist. Known as the “adaptive display concept,” the interface of this smartphone alters as it bends. In addition, it can generate a background to match the user’s outfit.
Lenovo also presented an avant-garde laptop with a see-through screen. In addition, Tecno, a brand under Chinese firm Transsion, unveiled the Phantom Ultimate, a phone with a screen that expands sideways when a button on the top of the device is pressed.
Furthermore, a small device, known as the AI Pin, was brought out by a company named Humane. You can ask questions and the device will respond. It even has a camera to take photos. Notably, it includes a laser projector that casts a menu onto your hand, where hand gestures can be used to navigate.
Moreover, Oppo showcased augmented reality glasses called the Air Glass 3, which include an AI assistant. Similarly, Tecno launched an augmented reality glasses game system with a controller attached.
Xiaomi revealed a groundbreaking feature—a kit that attaches to the Xiaomi 14 smartphone, turning it into a high-quality DSLR camera. Samsung brought forth the Galaxy Ring, a smart ring equipped with sensors that can monitor heart rate and sleep, and is planning to launch it in late 2024.
Robots also had their moment with Tecno displaying a robot dog, Dynamic 1, inspired by a German Shepherd. Meanwhile, Xiaomi introduced its first electric vehicle, the SU7, which is not yet available for sale.
In summary, there were numerous ground-breaking devices revealed at the Mobile World Congress 2024. From wearable smartphones, transparent laptops, to dancing robot dogs, the future of technology seems thrilling and limitless.
