Unlocking the Symphony of Genes and Chromosomes

Share

Jenny Graves is a scientist who studies evolution and enjoys singing in a choir. She has sung the famous oratorio, The Creation, by Joseph Haydn many times. This work tells the story of how God made the world in seven days. However, Jenny wanted a new story based on science. So, she wrote a new choral piece called Origins of the Universe, of Life, of Species, of Humanity. In this work, she shares ideas from many sciences, like biology and astronomy.

Jenny’s piece is funny and interesting. She believes in using facts from science. When some singers disagreed with her ideas, she encouraged them to keep singing. Many people loved her music. Last summer, she performed Origins with a large choir and orchestra in Melbourne, Australia, and received a standing ovation.

Jenny was born in Adelaide, Australia. She did not like biology at first. However, after learning about budgerigars, she became fascinated by genetics. Her love for science has led her to many exciting discoveries.
