Wendy Williams has expressed her deep frustration with her guardian, imploring her to “stop hovering over me!”
The former host of “The Wendy Williams Show” participated in a pre-recorded interview with “The View,” an exclusive feature obtained by Page Six, where she candidly discussed her ongoing conservatorship situation.
In the interview, 60-year-old Williams detailed a recent hospital visit and her decision to undergo an independent psychological evaluation, which she asserts she passed with exemplary results. “I required a breath of fresh air and sought medical attention, which prompted my visit to the hospital,” she explained.
Williams revealed that her hospital visit was also intended to facilitate bloodwork for her thyroid condition. She firmly asserted, “I chose to pursue an independent evaluation regarding my alleged incapacitation, which I do not possess,” adding indignantly, “How dare they allege that I am incapacitated? I am not!”
Earlier this week, she was taken to the hospital after she solicited help from paparazzi while at her high-end living facility in Hudson Yards. Subsequently, Williams has made the media rounds, appearing on “The Breakfast Club,” “Good Day New York,” and “The View,” as she strives to liberate herself from her guardian, Sabrina Morrissey.
On Wednesday, Page Six reported that Williams’ recent dinner outing with her niece, Alex Finnie, may have resulted in discontent among the staff at the $18,000-per-month facility she has disparagingly referred to as a “luxury prison.”
“Initially, it was delightful… They transported me from the hospital, and with my guardian’s consent, we briefly returned to the facility before heading out to dinner to celebrate life,” Williams recounted, emphasizing the joy of the outing.
“We dined at Tucci—it was fantastic! Paparazzi were present, so I paused to pose for them. Despite being confined solely to this floor, I am aware that these individuals working here are monitoring my every move,” she lamented.
Williams stated that the “memory unit” she inhabits is predominantly occupied by elderly residents nearing the age of ninety. “I’m just 60! Why am I in this situation?” she exclaimed.
Sunny Hostin expressed gratitude to Williams for the professional opportunities she provided during her early career in media. Inquired about her broadcasting ambitions, Williams lamented the improbability of resuming her career under the constraints of her current guardianship.
“I’ve contributed significantly throughout my life, yet I am surrounded by individuals who do not resonate with my identity, demeanor, or aspirations. I need them to step aside!” she affirmed vociferously.
During the interview, Williams was joined by Ginalisa Monterroso, the founder and president of Connect Care Advisory Group. An insider disclosed to Page Six that the hosts were elated to reconnect with Williams, noting, “She’s a long-standing friend of the show, and everyone wishes her the best.”
Williams’ full interview is scheduled to air on Friday, at which time Morrissey’s attorney has rebutted her assertions in a letter to TMZ, contesting them as “false, misleading, or incomplete.”
