Former J. Crew president and TV reality star Jenna Lyons drew in more than 100 eager shoppers for a “stoop sale” outside her Lower Manhattan loft. Lyons, known for her unique style, announced the sale on Instagram, extending hours and implementing a cover charge, with half of the proceeds going to Planned Parenthood.
Fans lined up for hours in hot weather to check out Lyons’ clothing offerings, hoping to snag pieces from the style icon. Some waited to catch a glimpse of Lyons herself. The event attracted a diverse crowd, from dedicated fans to those who had no idea who Lyons was.
While the sale drew in attendees from various backgrounds, members of the production crew for “The Real Housewives of New York City” were also present. Attendees signed media release forms in case they appeared on the show’s upcoming season.
The calm and orderly scene at Lyons’ sale was a far cry from a previous Versace sample sale that was shut down by the NYPD due to a fight among attendees. Lyons, a Boston native with a storied career at J. Crew, joined the “RHONY” cast during its 14th season and is currently filming for the next season. Security guard James Foley expressed confidence in keeping the event under control, despite past incidents. Bravo declined to comment, and Lyons did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
