Artificial intelligence, or AI, has made financial markets grow very quickly. Many types of companies are now linked to AI, not just technology companies. For example, power companies and building companies are also making money because they help build and run AI systems. The Financial Times newspaper says that over two-thirds of companies in a main US stock list, the Russell 1000, are now connected to AI.

This happened because companies need to spend a lot of money on things like computer chips and electricity for AI. This means many companies in different industries depend on AI’s success and continued high spending. If interest in AI becomes weaker, many of these businesses could lose money at the same time.

As a result, some investors are now trying to invest in companies or projects that do not depend as much on AI. They want to protect their money in case the AI trend slows down. Diversifying their investments this way can help make their portfolios safer.
