Ukraine has said it will increase attacks on Russian oil refineries. This announcement comes after Ukraine’s President, Volodymyr Zelensky, spoke about new Russian air attacks on important places such as roads and bridges. These attacks have made life much harder for people living in the Ukrainian capital city, Kyiv. One Russian drone even hit a school, but students were safe in a shelter.

The main reason for Ukraine’s promise to attack more oil refineries is to answer Russia’s strikes on Ukrainian infrastructure. Ukraine says Russian oil refineries, which are places that turn oil into petrol and other products, help Russia’s military by providing fuel. Ukraine believes stopping these refineries will weaken Russia’s war efforts.

Because of these attacks, daily life has become much more difficult for people in Kyiv. Many bridges are damaged or closed, causing long traffic jams and delays. The damaged roads and bridges make it hard for people to travel to work or get supplies. Both countries now expect more attacks on each other's important infrastructure.
