Fresh fighting has started in northern Ethiopia. Government soldiers are now fighting a new group of rebels led by forces from the Tigray region. Many people are worried because Ethiopia's last civil war between 2020 and 2022 killed hundreds of thousands and forced millions to leave their homes.

This new conflict began because old political relationships in the area have changed. Before, Ethiopia received help from Eritrea, its neighbour. However, now Eritrea supports the new rebels, according to the Ethiopian government. Relations have become so bad that Eritrea closed its embassy in Ethiopia.

As a result, there is fear that the war could soon become bigger and cross into other countries. This could lead to another humanitarian crisis in the region. People worry that the fighting could also bring in other countries, make trade more difficult, and cause even more people to leave their homes.
