Massive Russian missile and drone barrage on Ukraine kills at least 11 people
Follow spoken words in real time.
Russia carried out one of its largest air attacks on Ukraine on Tuesday. The attack included 73 missiles and 656 drones. Many cities were targeted, such as Kyiv, Dnipro, and Kharkiv. The strikes hit both homes and important infrastructure around the country.
Officials said that at least 11 people died and many others were injured. In some cities, missiles hit tall apartment buildings and caused serious damage. Emergency services worked to rescue people, put out fires, and help those affected by the strikes.
Ukraine’s air defence systems stopped over 600 drones. However, some missiles passed through the defences and hit buildings. The attacks also damaged power supplies and transport networks. Many areas had power cuts, and aid groups are worried about how this will affect people in the future.
