A missile attack hit King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, on Saturday. The attack killed 12 people and injured 309 others. The airport stopped all operations while emergency teams helped the wounded and checked the damaged area. The missile hit the part of the airport used for domestic flights, and passengers from many countries were victims. Flights were cancelled or sent to other airports, and many people did not know when they could fly.
The Saudi-led military coalition said the Houthi movement from Yemen was responsible for the attack. The Houthis, a group that controls parts of Yemen, often fight against Saudi Arabia. The conflict in Yemen has been ongoing for more than ten years and has caused many problems for people living there. The attack happened because of the renewed fighting between the Houthis and Saudi-backed forces in Yemen.
The main result of the airport attack is that Saudi Arabia has promised to answer strongly. The coalition said it would take action against the Houthis after this attack. Emergency teams are working at the airport, and many flights are still affected. People in the region are now more worried about travel and safety due to this conflict.
