The latest firmware version 3.144 has been rolled out to the Pixel Buds Pro 2 as announced by Google on Monday, with an official changelog now available for the update.
On Wednesday afternoon, Google confirmed the availability of the “firmware update release_3.144” for the Pixel Buds Pro 2, highlighting that this update brings enhancements to both firmware and audio quality.
In addition, Google has introduced “helpful chimes” that confirm the correct placement of the earbuds in their charging case for optimal charging. Users have the option to disable this “Bud return” sound by accessing the companion app and navigating to More settings > Case Sounds.
Google’s changelog for the update primarily mentions improvements without specific details on bug fixes. Users have three options for updating their Pixel Buds Pro 2:
- Automatic updates: If enabled, the update will download automatically when the earbuds are in use or placed in the charging case with sufficient battery.
- Manual updates: Users can manually initiate the download on their phone if automatic updates are disabled.
- Alternatively, users can obtain the latest firmware directly from the web companion app at mypixelbuds.google.com.
It is recommended to ensure both the Left/Right earbuds and Pixel Buds Pro 2 case are updated to version 3.144 to access all the new features.
