Welcome to Day 3 of Gizmodo’s <strong>competitionstrong> to find the greatest app of all time. Yesterday, WhatsApp just beat Dark Sky with 53 percent of all votes. Today, we have an <strong>excitingstrong> match between Google Maps and Yelp.
Google Maps is one of the most <strong>popularstrong> map apps around. It started in 2005 and it’s still going strong. Every month, more than one billion people use it. When you compare it to printing directions, Google Maps is much better. It has made our lives much easier and it keeps getting better.
On the other hand, Yelp, with around 100 million users every month, is a strong competitor too. For nearly 13 years, Yelp has stood strong against Google. It helps us choose good places to eat and visit through reviews from other users. This may have caused a few troubles, but it also has helped many small businesses grow.
So, dear readers, it’s your turn to chose now. Do you prefer Google Maps or would you rather give Yelp a five-star review? Let us know your favourite. We also have interesting competitors coming up in the next few days. Let’s see which app will win the title of the greatest app of all time.
