Netflix wants to use the success of its animated movie, “KPop Demon Hunters.” They want to sell more products related to the movie.
On Tuesday, Netflix announced a new deal with toy companies Mattel Inc. and Hasbro Inc. They will make dolls, action figures, plush toys, and more based on “KPop Demon Hunters.” This movie is about three powerful singers who also hunt demons to protect the world.
Since its release in June, “KPop Demon Hunters” has become very popular. It is Netflix’s most-watched movie, with over 325 million views in the first 91 days.
Netflix is working with many brands to grow the fanbase of its shows and movies. Next month, Netflix will open a new place called Netflix House. Here, they will offer fun experiences, food, and merchandise based on their shows.
Marian Lee, Netflix’s marketing officer, said, “KPop Demon Hunters” created a global fan excitement. With Mattel and Hasbro, fans can get their favorite toys and games they have wanted.
Both Hasbro and Mattel will be main toy partners for “KPop Demon Hunters.” Netflix has also worked with other toy makers before.
