LOS ANGELES — The Queen of Tejano music is being honored again. The Grammy Museum has a new exhibition called “Selena: From Texas to the World.”
This exhibit opened on Thursday and will be available until March 16, 2026. It shows some of Selena’s personal items for the first time outside the Selena Museum in Corpus Christi, Texas.
Selena’s sister, Suzette Quintanilla, helped make this exhibit. She said, “We are very happy to share Selena’s story. This exhibit is a tribute to her spirit, her culture, and her love for fans.”
In 1994, Selena won her first Grammy Award for “Selena Live!” She was the first female Tejano artist to win. In 2021, she received a Lifetime Achievement Grammy.
Kelsey Goelz, a Grammy Museum curator, said, “Selena had a big impact on music. We are excited to celebrate her here.”
Some highlights of the exhibition include:
- The outfit from the “Amor Prohibido” cover.
- The white gown Selena wore at the 1994 Grammy Awards.
- Selena’s Grammy and Lifetime Achievement Awards.
- Instruments played by her family.
- Selena’s lipstick-marked microphone.
Selena is known for hits like “Como La Flor” and “Dreaming of You.” Last year, Netflix released a series about her life.
