Toys for Bob, the game maker that created Crash Bandicoot and Spyro, has decided to break away from Activision and Xbox. They are becoming a separate game making company, or an “independent studio.” This comes after a period of difficulties, including the closure of their offices and many people losing their jobs.

On their website, the bosses of Toys for Bob, Paul Yan and Avery Lodato, talked about this new step. They explained that they are already planning their next game, but are not ready to share any details. They did mention that Activision and Xbox have been very understanding about their decision.

Toys for Bob said the following: “We’re really happy to announce that Toys for Bob is becoming an independent game development studio!”. Also, they mentioned exploring a chance to work with Microsoft again, and they believe they will continue to get along with both teams.

Basically, Toys for Bob is breaking away to control its future. Over the past year, they worked on games such as Crash Team Rumble, Crash Bandicoot 4, and Spyro Reignited Trilogy.

In other news, Saber Interactive may also leave Embracer, and Gearbox Software might follow them too.

This big decision has surely surprised many fans. Now, everyone is excitedly waiting to see what Toys for Bob will do next!
