Behind the Scenes with Jimmy Fallon

On Wednesday, March 25, South Korean band BTS began a two-night appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in New York. This event is significant as BTS continues to expand their global influence and promote their new album.

All seven members—RM, Jin, Suga, j-hope, Jimin, V, and Jung Kook—joined host Jimmy Fallon for a lively interview, following a performance of their song “SWIM” at the iconic Guggenheim Museum. Fans filled Studio 8H, creating an electric atmosphere as BTS exited the venue through the audience, interacting with attendees along the way.

In addition to the interview, viewers enjoyed a pre-recorded segment featuring fans singing “SWIM,” the lead single from their new album, ARIRANG. After their performances, BTS surprised fans who had just sung in the booth, eliciting delighted reactions.

Each member shared amusing anecdotes during the show. RM, recently licensed to drive, prompted laughter when V called riding with him “scary.” Jin humorously debated whether people have one or two posteriors, suggesting two based on how legs are structured. SUGA received cheers related to a running joke, while j-hope joked that if he were the eighth member, he would need to “practice.” Jimin drew laughs with a playful song during his monologue.

V referred to the album’s track “2.0” as a metaphorical “chapter 2” for BTS, indicating a fresh start. Jung Kook was playfully noted as the messiest among the group when they lived together in Los Angeles while recording.

Viewers can catch BTS’ full performance and interview at 11:35 p.m. ET/PT tonight on NBC, with a repeat show on Thursday featuring other celebrity guests.
