Two TV stations apologized for the inconvenience. They explained that a special report was intended after the golf coverage, but it was overlooked by higher-ups at the network. This made fans liken the situation to an infamous sports broadcast issue in 1968. Then, a dramatic football game ending was interrupted by airing a children’s movie on NBC.
