Dan Lin is the producer of Lego movies and the live-action version of Avatar: The Last Airbender. He has been chosen as the new head of film for Netflix. His job will replace Scott Stuber. Stuber decided to step down in March.
Dan Lin was one of the top names being considered for this job. Despite the challenges related to his production company Rideback, he finally accepted the offer. Under this new agreement, Lin will leave Rideback. His co-workers, Jonathan Eirich and Michael LoFaso will then become the new bosses of the production company. Lin will start his new job on April 1st.
Dan Lin has already worked with Netflix before. He produced a horror movie named “Death Note” and the highly praised drama “The Two Popes”. Recently, he led the creation of The Last Airbender series, which was very popular, debuting as number one in 92 countries.
Dan Lin started his career at Warner Bros. and then started his own production company. The movies he produced have earned more than $5 billion worldwide. When he starts his work at Netflix, things will be different from when his predecessor was in charge. One new plan is to reduce the money used and the number of new movies made by Netflix.
