David L. Trent grew up in a restaurant. As a teenager, he worked at his uncle’s sports bar. The bar was in Newport News, Virginia. A lot of sailors ate there.
David likes comfort food. “Comfort food is food that we eat every day,” he says. “I want people to enjoy my restaurant. I would like to see 40 or 50 people here every day, having a good time.”
David runs his own restaurant now. The name is Dave T’s. You can eat burgers, wings, seafood, salads, and desserts there. The doors opened in October 2023. Lots of people like to come here.
Many people who eat at Dave T’s are old. They are retired from the army. They like to ride big motorcycles called Harley Davidson. On Fridays and Saturdays, you can see lots of these motorcycles parked outside the restaurant.
The food at Dave T’s is American. But David likes to add his own touch to the food. He has been doing this for 20 years. He uses special spices to make the food tasty. The most popular items are wings, burgers, Philly cheesesteaks, and boom boom shrimp.
The goal of David is to make people happy. He wants every customer to feel at home.
