Share

A solo art exhibit called “Oskar Fischinger: A Deeper Look” will open on January 2 at Sullivan Goss Gallery. This exhibit shows the painting work of Oskar Fischinger. He was a pioneer of abstract animation and visual music.

The exhibit is also for a new book about Fischinger’s painting. This book is the first major one that focuses only on his paintings. Fischinger made about 800 paintings, but most people know him for his films.

The show will include many of his unique paintings. Some of these paintings were made for his film projects. Fischinger’s painting life lasted over 30 years, longer than his time in films.

Today, his paintings are in many major museums in California and other big places like MOMA and the Guggenheim.
